Dr. Kooima is originally from southwest North Dakota and grew up in the veterinary field. She attended North Dakota State University for her undergraduate education and graduated from Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2003. After graduation she worked in Tucson, AZ for 7 years then returned to the Midwest and has been practicing in Omaha since 2010.
Dr. Kooima is trained in abdominal ultrasound and performs gastropexies along with other complex soft-tissue surgeries, helping provide advanced, comprehensive care for her patients. Her professional interests also include dermatology, preventative medicine, and client education.
Her family includes her Husband, Byron and two kids, Isabelle and Jackson. She also has three energetic Boston Terriers: Cypress (Cy), Magnolia (Maggie), and George.
In her free time she enjoys following her kids around at their activities, traveling and building Legos and puzzles.
